Cliff Lounge Varkala

A lovely hotel not right on the clifftop but the higher rooms face the sea and it is far enough away from the cluttered walkway on the clifftop to be peaceful. The staff are exceptional particularly the owner Manoj who is very helpful. The rooms are spotless and cleaned whenever you want and there is a lovely outdoor balcony space on each room so you can enjoy great sunsets. Try and get a room on the top floor of the two floors. This a relatively new hotel so it is fitted out well with good bathrooms. There is also a nice space in front of the hotel which leaves you feeling comfortable and not squashed in like other hotels in Varkala. We paid 500 rupees but expect a bit more in peak season

Manoj and Malin are very firnedly hosts. I got terribly sick and thy really helped out (since I was alone) they drowve me to the hospital and took really good care of me. This hotel, as other reviewers have mentioned, is clean, quiet and comfortable. But the view from the balconys overlook a bare building block that resembles a tip.The sea is just glimped through other buildings. Smoke from burning debris waft through the rooms.
