I have stayed here 3 times over the years, the latest being March 2009. While somewhat expensive, the rooms were clean, and my friend had a great view of the Golden Temple. The management were very friendly, though some of the staff less so. For a decent place right next to the temple, I would recommend it, though ask to see ... read more »

We stayed in the Ritz Plaza for 2 days early August 2009. I talked to their reception on the phone a few times and got worried about communication problems in English (I am a dutch national, my hindi is 'limited'). With so many choices in Amritsar, the only reason to choose this hotel would be to stay at a Raj-era building. It was "the" place to stay in the '60's and '70's but I'm afraid, no longer.
