Aliment Hotel Darjeeling
40 Zakir Hussain Road
A clean guesthouse run by a friendly and informative family high in the hills of Darjeeling city. Situated about 15 minute walk from the main bazaar area. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is quiet. The only downside is the indian style toilets bit that can be overcome. I haven't met a more helpful or pleasant family in the hotel business. Quite a charming place to stay. Hot shower morning and evening. Fast internet cafe downstairs. Roof top restaurant with reasonable prices. Aliment Hotel Darjeeling Rates and Room Information

Yes, its a very steep hill climb, you cannot go up and come down alot, if you think you have left something in your room, while you are downtown, forget to pick it up from your room and come down in a minute....and after the climb.... obviously the view would have to compensate it, or else nothing else is extra-ordinary. My room is really nice, wood-panelled with a great view down the valley - they must have invested in some new mattresses as my bed is one of the comfiest I've ever had in India: a very rare thing indeed. I'm paying Rs. 250 for a double ... read more »

staying there at the moment, really a great place. The food is backpacker orientated but very good none the less. Again a very friendly family run business, they also have a library where you can rent books for your stay (free).
Only downsides are it's right at the top of great hill away from the centre of Darjeeling, but ... read more »

Spent some time here too! It was great, the staff and food were awesome. The walk up the hill is worth it...although it may be hard to find if you get dropped off at the main bus area. We found this place on our second day there and switched hotels! ... read more »
